Peyla's 1st Christmas

We had a wonderful time celebrating Peyla's first Christmas! It was such a joy to experience the season with her and it renewed the sense of innocence that this time of year used to bring for me.

Brendon and I decided to test Peyla out in the "big-girl" part of her stroller. She looked so little! She still uses her infant carseat that inserts into the stroller but we are excited for her to sit up front so she can see out! Maybe in another month or so...

Little Scooter

Peyla has started scooting and rolling her way around the house over the last week or so! I had placed her on her tummy on the orange blanket and went into the kitchen to make lunch. I heard some rustling and found her underneath the Christmas tree! She rolled and scooted her way to touch the branches- very inquisitive! Mommy's carefree days are over...

Peyla is becoming so playful! We had just returned from the store and I was unloading the groceries. While I walked away, she pulled her blanket down over her carseat and all I could see were those adorable little feet!

Daddy's Birthday

Last Sunday was Brendon's 32nd birthday! Peyla and I made him a cake (OK, I baked - she supervised) and took him out to his favorite restaurant. We had a great time and look forward to celebrating many more!

Peyla just started sitting up on her own last week! I was surprised at first and wasn't really sure it even happened but now she does it quite often. We can't believe how strong she is.

Spoiled!

Our best friends Nate & Kendra sent Peyla early Christmas presents, one of which is the Leap Frog (great developmental toy)! Peyla loved hearing all of the sounds and watching the lights. It even has an option for spanish which is muy buen! We hope she gets to learn both languages. Guess that means I better brush up on mi espanol. :)

We tried giving Peyla her first bite of rice cereal last week to test her skills! She wasn't sure what to do at first and made the funniest face. But then she started leaning towards the spoon. Brendon swears she will be eating pizza in no time.

Grandparents Phil & Donna drove in from California last weekend to meet Peyla! We had a great time with them and they spoiled Peyla with affection (and some new toys!). Thank you Phil & Donna for the fun visit. :)

Peyla enjoyed her very first Halloween and was the hit of the party! We skipped the formal costume this year because they were a little too big. But she still put her best pumpkin...er..forward! ;)
